You had mentioned the fact that we won a game and lost a game. It would be interesting to see how the numbers play out solely based on win-loss.

Also, another thing I noticed was thet there were 29 fewer parking infractions. One of the games listed was the largest crowd in the history of the stadium while the other had empty seats in the stands. (They mentioned in the paper that the student section was sparse).

Jason,

I'm not sure whether a win or loss, day or night, makes a difference. I am, however, sure that weather matters. Here's the 2009 season:

Sep. 5 6:00PM W 513
Sep. 12 1:00PM W 435
Sep. 26 6:00PM W 509
Oct. 17 2:30PM L 412
Oct. 24 11:30AM L 389

If anyone has the time and inclination to look up the home games and kickoff times for the last few seasons, I'll do the same, and maybe we can draw some reasonable inferences if there appears to be a correlation when a larger sample size is examined.

Whether or not it's the weather then if losing is better than winning in one respect that's fine but a bummer.

I saw you had 25 DUIs this past weekend. I vaguely remember one time on a new year's eve, many years back, when LPD did some traffic redirection downtown to throw motorists a few curves with cruisers and portable barricades. Nothing that would vex a sober driver (or even a slightly intox one), but enough to cause a very intoxicated driver to mess up. Quite crafty.

I wonder what the correlation would be in the drug of choice on game day when we win vs when we lose.

I suspect on the days when we win alcohol is the preferred drug. Everyone is in a good mood and they want to go out and have a few beers and get rowdy. Hence an increase in incidents around town.

On the days we lose the mood is somber. The drug of choice on the down days is probably a few shots of that sour mash you have at home or a few puffs on a joint or some kind of pill. Behavior typically done in the privacy of their own home so unless they have a bad trip no contact with others. Hence low crime stats on those days.

Nothing scientific in my observations just wondering.

I really don't think too many Husker fans are going home to forget the pains of losing with pills.

i also don't think there's a lot of correlation with the "drug of choice" instead i believe it is the fact that when we win, people do want to go out and celebrate. when we lose, we are more inclined to stay home. also the fact that one game was in the evening and the other was in the morning makes a difference.
