Past posts

The blog has been taking a bit of a backseat this week. The early morning hours I normally devote to blogging have been consumed by three early morning commitments I had this week, complicated by the release of Apple's new operating system for iPhones and iPads, iOS 7. Between me, my wife, and my mother-in-law, I had five devices to update, and a short learning curve to navigate.

As a result, I'm just going to recycle two posts from the past which are somewhat related to the big local and national news stories this week:

When the doors swing open

Where did the gun come from?

I haven't talked to anyone who has updated to iOS 7. It sounds like you should be an expert after updating 5 devices.

Any tips for those of us who haven't updated?

Did you lose any data?

Do you like the new OS?

I can think of several more questions but I'll leave it at that for now. I have three devices to update myself and I'm not looking forward to it. I might wait for the Pirate update.

Here is a link that is likewise more than somewhat related to one of this week's big national stories - which seemed scroll off the radar amazingly fast for an incident of that type (until you realize why the media pretty much dropped it in a hurry). Those side effects are nothing to shrug off.

So, do you recommend updating to iOS 7?

3:04,

Yes. I always think it's good to keep software up yo date, and I haven't encountered any problems with the apps I iuse at all. Couple of small things I like in Safari and control center, and nothing that annoys me enough to recommend otherwise. Basically, the differences are small, the learning curve short and gentle.
