He has seniority

Reading reports yesterday morning, I came across a disturbance arrest by Officer Jake Dilsaver. I chuckled over this excerpt from the report, in which the defendant asserts his seniority:
"At detox he was uncooperative with myself and staff, and insulting
toward everyone. The defendant tested .245 BAC, substantiating my concern
for his level of intoxication. The defendant was sure he would be getting
his citation dismissed since he had been a criminal far longer than I had
been a police officer."

This comment has to be in the top ten reasons to ask the Congress for a grant to fund a retirement fund for drunks. This idea is not so far fetched. Take a look and see where the tax money is going, an example:From Los Angeles.
The transit authority will use a portion of the just over $1 million of stimulus funds to purchase art for 19 bus stations along the Harbor and El Monte transit way “to enhance the customer experience,” and to incorporate “unique artworks…designed to make transit a more attractive alternative.”

Nothing beats an honest Drunk! Officer: Do you know why I pulled you over? Drunk: Was it because I have been drinking way to much alcohol and going the wrong way on 17th St.? Officer: YEP!! Chief, your officers may see more of this guy in the near future with an attitude like that.

The defendant was right...he HAS been a criminal longer than Dilsaver has been a cop.

From what I've seen of most of the current Lincoln police officers, it wouldn't take much of a criminal history to have been at it longer than the cop. They all look like they could be my grandchildren! Ouch!

Chief-How about a points system kind of like airline miles or hotel stays?

The more you get arrested, the longer you get three hots and a cot. Kind of a special VIP treatment for your Platinum "guests".
