How much is that doggie in the window?

One dollar.  You just can't make this stuff up.  Lightly edited to protect identities, click to enlarge.

Oh, the logic here! He didn't want the dog tucked safely away in his truck so he sticks it into a newspaper machine? Whoa. And to think this is someone driving a semi-truck on our highways...scary!

At least it was USA Today and not LJS; imagine the horror!

Steve,
Forcing the dog to read the LJS would have required adding cruelty charges to the ticket.

Steve: LOL! LOL!

Of course, LJS does have its place in regard to dogs; it's called potty training.

I'm curious as to what the citation was; I doubt if there is a statute or ordinance specifically prohibiting placing a dog in a newspaper dispenser. On the other hand, a person can be charged for leaving a dog in a motor vehicle.

I know what would happen if I left my dog in there.

I asked this same person if the dog will bite, no he said. I reach to pet it and the dog snaps at me. I say, I thought you said the dog will not bite. That is not my dog I am told..
In this situation the dog is a reader of the paper and avoids fast foods. If the Officer would have asked the dog, we would know much more. Can we say Libya? Also we can guess who the dog endorses for President. And the owner for Congress for finding housing in a creative way.

What can anyone say after that?

I/m not sure why it was necessary to issue a citation. What was so wrong for such a short period of time?

Steve,

Sorry about the delayed response. Cruelty to Animals.

I'm a little conflicted on this one, as it appears the truck driver was trying to do the right thing for his dog, and no harm came to it. However, in other circumstances, I can see where the charge might be appropriate. I guess no matter how you look at it, it wasn't the best choice he could have made.
