My latest example of a simple solution to what is undoubtedly a somewhat more complex interpersonal problem comes from this ruling on a petitioner's request to the Lancaster County Court for a protection order, sought by mom and dad in order to keep their daughter's ex-boyfriend away and enjoin him from being mean to her Facebook. This court order is a public record, but I redacted the names, to avoid embarrassing the individuals. Click each page image to enlarge for more comfortable reading.

Easy solution
Keeping with my recent penchant to reuse blog post titles, you may want to read the eponymous post from 2009 (and yes, I've waited almost six years to use the word eponymous in a sentence.)

Judge Pokorny continues to earn my respect. His explaination and rational of any type of complaint that lands upon his bench is what I and most of the folks I work with can only wish we could say, to these types of parents. Thank You!
A M E N. Thank you to someone to finally GETS IT. Now, if only he could have some influence on the call takers who insist LPD responds to these inane calls for service along the same lines and want the police to be the parent for the child they've spent the last 16-18 years screwing up.
Just thought I'd try out my new iPad and keyboard.
Tom,
In the 2nd paragraph I think you mean "by" instead of "buy."
Pokorny rocks! Too bad we tear apart teachers who try to be honest with parents about their kids.
Yes, I can testify that often, parents refuse to believe their children could do anything wrong.
It will be a sad day when Judge Pokorny retires. He appears to be one of the few, very few, who actually use common sense in their rulings. Thanks Judge!
I have not had an opportunity recently, to keep up to date with your blog. After reading this order, I am thinking Porkorny should run for Congress or even President! We need people with common sense to lead our Country, not just oversee Lincoln Nebraska.
