Second murder

Lincoln's second murder of the year occurred over the weekend in the wee hours Sunday morning at a house party in the Southeast Team area.  This isn't the first time someone has been murdered at a party.  Whenever we can show results like this, you can be assured that the collateral splatter has been reduced, as well.  Too bad we didn't get to this one before the lead flew. An unfortunate end to a young man's life, but at least nice work by the officers got this homicide cleared up quickly.

Are the absentee homeowners going to be cited for maintaining a disorderly house, since this is just one of many house parties held by their kids at that address?

Well, isn't this interesting. Someone with 3 felony convictions for sexual assault of a minor has set up shop at that address.

I'd like to ask a question for the sake of seeking comments:

Am I wrong to be repulsed by all the attention in the media on what a "nice, peace-seeking guy" the victim was? If you are underage, at a party with 75 people in a house, and get in a fight, the media should not immortalize you as the world's missed chance of having another Ghandi.

The cities 2nd Homicide in August....... Bet the actors were from Omaha?????

Seriously, LPD needs to get over to Omaha and help them fix their mess. Their leadership has been really busy working on their 18 homicides....

Oh no wait, their leadership has been busy fighting for their fat cat raises and protecting their fat cat pensions.

Or maybe because LPD does follow up on cases?

Omaha has bigger problems with witness cooperation This gigantic screw-up by the Douglas County Attorney's office certainly won't help that out.

I think it might be cities third chief. Let us not forget the man who was stabbed 24 times at 14th and HWY 2.

Ah, quite true, but it won't be counted on LPD's statistics: State Patrol will have to tally that one.

As I was aware sir, but just didn't want those "officers" who responded with nothing more than their hands and mouths to be ignored, as the media has made it so. Those officers also made it to the scene within 90 seconds.

I appreciate your work sir, best of luck and congratulations with your new position!

Wow, just one day ago and I was talking with a student about night party mishaps. The V-B player from Nebraska was the main topic. and then this.
How many party shootings and a resulting death during the 50's 60's and 70's.
What is going on with people to think they are exempt from a night of being drunk in the masses.
