She's 27 now, and I don't think she's holding a grudge about this.

That is indeed a sweet moment. May I share a moment of such. This week I had 35 little tots escourted by a fine bunch of staff from school, ride my bus. The best bunch of well mannered children I have ever saw. After the mile ride, the entire bus smelled like a diaper pail. Brings back the days when my kids were little. On a unrelated note, this scent is not sold in stores. New car scent is much better.
Ahhhh, the memories. I was the recipient of a few notes very similar to that some years ago. Now, the author of those notes is now an extremely competent LPD officer and an unbelievably wonderful human being. Was I a strict, meanie parent? Yes. Did it pay off? Yes. Could I go through it again? Hell no!
Hi, I don't know if you remember me but I was trying to find the best way to contact you and found the chiefs corner and saw this and figured it was the perfect way to apologize for things that I have said to you and others in the department. I hope you accept my apology. I wish you good luck in your new task. I will continue to pray for you and others in the department. Sincerely, ~Marlys Gearhart~
I moderate comments submitted to this blog. I redact profanity, inane off-topic comments, bigoted garbage, personal attacks against others, and anything else I feel like deep sixing. I let a lot of stuff through that does not reflect my own opinion or that of the City of Lincoln or the departments I manage. If you post a comment, you never know where it will go: this is all open to the public, so post at your own risk.

How is Kelly? I went to High School with her. Hope she's doing well and these notes are really cute :-)
