Are we talking full moon here, too? Sounds like somebody needs anger management counseling.
Readers:
Don't get bored, and miss the fourth one up from the bottom...so to speak.
What is the law about blowing snow in the street? I had always heard you could until the street was plowed. (BTW - I don't do it, I shovel.) But wondering what the actual law says?
OK! Let me guess. A bunch of seniors at the retirement center decided to have a party and run into the snow cold night nude. This would be a complaint.
A group of Victoria Secret models doing the same would promote the bored that you speak of.
I was out in this snow, because I had to be, and you will be glad to know I was sober AND had my clothes on. Was any frost bite reported. OK, that is enough.
Chief were there calls for service like this 35 years ago? Were people more self reliant back then?
I caught that--could cause some interesting cases of frostbite at the very least. Wonder what the average BAC was in that group?

Same silly calls, but ther weren't cell phones, so you couldn't call us up to give us the up-to-the-minute account of being stuck.
7:28-
Illegal to deposit snow from your property in the street, but in most of these cases, the contractor has no intention of doing that--he's just moving it out of the drive temporarily, and intends to push it up sidewalk-to-curb when the lot is cleared. There are some exceptions, though--the City has its fair share of numbskulls.

I know that folks find it irritating when people shovel, snowblow, run the leaf blowers, etc. at "odd hours". I used to get off work at 2 a.m. So I would get home about 2:20, and then I would shovel my driveway (it was very long as the garage was in a spot where the vacated alley used to be.) I did not use a machine, just back-power. But my neighbor would get up and use a machine at 7 a.m., when I was sleeping. I did not complain because I knew that normal awake time for him did not coincide with mine. I know people are getting owly, but show some common sense and consideration.
Anon 9:28, good for you. I know people get upset about being woke up sometimes...but I honestly doubt that anybody is scooping snow at 2:30 in the morning because they WANT to.
All the streets are slick...duh. I was just on the Teresa street bridge. A car spun out, Ilost count at six spins. He escaped with no crash. After picking up my dentures, I called dispatch to let them know about the uncommon (salt trucks have been out for days) ice conditions on this bridge. The bridge has a history of multi car pile ups.
I was amazed to be transfered to a recording that asked me to report my pot hole.
I will just park next time and wait for the accident show.
"Same silly calls, but there weren't cell phones, so you couldn't call us up to give us the up-to-the-minute account of being stuck."
It's unfortunately a two-edged sword. Cell phones enable citizens to follow bank robbers at a prudent distance and help the dispatcher vector in cruisers to intercept, or to report drunk drivers bouncing off curbs, but there's the other kind of calls, too, when common sense takes a short vacation.
I built another snowman.
My other one melted. Must be global warming.
What a joke? Calling out the police for snow blowing, being cold, etc...I'm sure the people calling assume that the police drive 4x4's & can get to them without any trouble.
I actually don't have a problem with people reporting others for pushing/blowing snow into the street. It is against the law, after all. And beyond that, it's dangerous because passing motorists probably can't see past the shower of snow. On top of all this, it kind of defeats the purpose of plowing the streets if you're putting the snow right back out there where people drive.
I mean really...how lazy do you have to be to blow snow right back into the street?
BTW, I use my snowblower to shoot it into my backyard.
I always find it amusing (or irritating) that people pick times like these (blizzards) to drive their absolute worst and do things they wouldn't even do on a good-weather day, like it's okay to pull out in front of someone 50 feet away because the road is icy and it might take you to long to get across the street if you wait any longer.
I'm guessing the indecent exposure call was the dude at Bennett Martin Library, masturbating next to the security desk?
Dave-
That's affirmative.
the snow has got to go somewhere. Like you said, usually plowing snow into the street in unintentional. If people would just have patience, it would stop wasting everyone's time with useless calls to the police department.
And the guy at the library...my goodness. what is wrong with people?
Hey Chief, this is an old case and isincredibly off topic, but I was wondering if anyone had been arrested in this case yet: A9-024411.
The reason I ask about the old crime Chief, is because the one in black with the gun looks suspiciously like the GIRL that was arrested for the burglary attempt at Clever Clown a few days ago. Right down to the hair, the "side burns" the prominent brow line, and the feminine stance while leaning over the counter. I could be wrong of course, but you never know. You may just want to take a look at the stills on crimestoppers and then her mug shot.
Of course if someone has already been arrested for the crime, disregard my post. Just trying to help. :)
running around naked while drunk is against the law??? i really have to find some new hobbies..

I called about an hour prior and the dispatcher blew me off. WHY not get EXTRA salt on this bridge?":?
Monkey see monkey do.
City shoves it in your driveway.
Major steets city shoves it on corners blocks sidewalks.
So what the hell is the difference other than illegal!
Anon 1:08,
The difference is that the city has no feasible way to put it anywhere else...you do.
You can't complain about how long it takes them to clear the snow, then turn around and demand that they make sure not to push now into driveways, which would take WAY, WAYYYY longer than the current method of snow removal.
It's not THAT much work to carry the snow to the edge of your driveway...and if you have a snowblower, it's not that hard to adjust where it deposits the snow...just turn the knob.
