You've seen these before: a framed dollar bill above the counter at a bar, store, restaurant, or other small business. It was placed there in celebration of the first buck earned by a entrepreneur who risked it all to follow a dream.
Last week, our Administrative Officer/Accountant, Michele, showed me a deposit she was working on. Among here many duties she deposits funds that are seized as evidence after the court has disposed of the case, if the cash is forfeited. She had several hundred dollars in currency that was headed to the bank in a recently-concluded narcotics case. Among the bills was a neatly-framed Fifty. Ulysses S. Grant was staring out from the black shadow box.
I guess drug dealers are entrepreneurs, too.

Handle that nasty dope cash with gloves and tweezers! The upside is that it'll help pay for the thousands and thousands of accident report forms LPD Officers will fill out this winter. Freezing rain is on the forecast for Thursday, so warm up those pens and prepare to start writing. Bring those merino wool socks and the polar-weight long underwear.

Yes, they are. I lived next door to one a few years back. They didn't have a job but drove a brand new car, were always shopping, and had nice clothes. Well, to make a long story short, they don't have to go clothes shopping anymore, the state does it for them, their driving career has been put on hold, and their business is closed down. Law enforcement in this city has gotten much better at shutting down these businesses.

You don't see to many new businesses still framing the "first" dollar earned. I know if I get to start my dream business, a clean upscale bar/poolhall, I will definitely frame my first earned dollar.
If a legitimate business framed a $50 dollar bill, you would likely find it missing with the bad economy & peoples stick finger

I would encourage anyone being questioned about a crime to be completely open and honest with the police without bothering those very busy defense attorneys. Especially if he/she is guilty.
