...it will freeze that way

Most of my readers don’t need to be reminded, but for those of you in warmer climes, here in Nebraska we are suffering through the worst winter is a few decades. The front that blew through Wednesday didn’t dump as much snow, but the arctic air mass behind it is pretty impressive. As I write this, the actual temp is -6, and the wind chill is -25. I am usually online looking through the calls for service early in the morning, about the same time I write the blog. Yesterday morning, this dispatch record from the height of the storm caught my attention:

The windchill at the time was hovering at about -20. Remember what grandma used to tell you when you made a funny face? “You better watch out….”

After I let my dogs out this morning and they made the morning "deposit" I had to rush to get my ice chop tool. I was able to free my pet from being frozen in mid stream. That was one cool deposit.
Coprophagia is now no problem, but it sure leaves a ton of work for me.
So low temps have some positve to them.

Thanks for the early morning laugh Chief! Keep up the great work!

That reminds me of a Seinfield episode.

I can't wait for Arrrrg's reply to the topic.

...or how about that flagpole scene in A Christmas Story?

Here's another...unwise...thing a few people are bound to do in very cold weather:

UNK PTY TOOK V UNLOCKED/RUNNING VEH FROM PARKING LOT 1998 CADI DEVILLE 4DR

CAR TKN WHILE WARMING UP IN DRIVEWAY, WAS TOWED 70&CORN 2007 CADI

Keep in mind that the bluebook value of the 2007, and the fact that there was a dealer-installed remote start available for it, points to another, less vulnerable warm-up option.

I thought the quote was "You better watch out you'll shoot your eye out." That may be due to high winds.

The best bet is to go inside where the proper accessories are located.

Just make sure to us the correct hand.

Who says Coprophagous dogs can't still be active in this weather? Didn't you ever call them "poopcicles" when they were frozen?

By the way, Arrrrg, if you run out of your pirate wipes, you might find this helpful.

Is that a serious crime? To bad some people have absolutley no life that they would take the time to call this in.

4:32,
You'd be amazed at some of the things people call the police for. I once heard an officer dispatched to a Lincoln AM radio station at 3 in the morning because it went off of the air and the caller thought something might be wrong.

UNK PR TOOK IPOD FROM V DURING HOUSE PARTY

Same location, same party. I don't suppose that the resident intended the guest list to be solely comprised of trusted friends and business associates.

Chief,

Another soft target. Doesn't this have a factory ignition immobilizer? Did the crook tow it away, or did someone leave a key available?

I've seen first hand that 1185's dog loves playing with 'poopcicles'.

I have been told to make my comment of 7:07 clear.
The ton of work I refer to is picking up the deposits and not picking up where the dogs left off.
Some readers sure have a strange imagination.
