It was actually a very slow day: 196 dispatches, about half our average. If you are a long time reader, and this post looks familiar, don't worry: it's just déjà vu. You can keep an eye on what we're up to at the Lincoln Police Department day-by-day on our public web site.

The first one said "tenderness around the neck".
i am thankful this Thanksgiving. I had tenderness too. It was a tender loving family, and a tender turkey, neck and all. Ok, lets not joke about domestic violence . I will venture a guess that Mr. Mickalobe and Mr. Budnowiser had a hand in the calls. I would like to know how many enjoyed alcohol with the "tenderness" and violence.
Any way to check on that Chief?
Going shopping, do an APB if I am not back by Dec 24th ;}

What proportion of those incidents involved the use of alcohol as a contributing factor?

Code 19?

Almost all. I can run the exact number when I'm back at my desk, but not right now I'm thinking "football."

Code 19 = "drunk."

"Almost all" is good enough! When it comes to those beverages, some people only have one speed ("foot to the floor, and steer straight toward trouble"). I'd also bet that most of those incidents were preceded by several similar incidents at the same address in the recent past.

It's not pirates, but I think this Norman Rockwell says it all.

I had a faily tender tummy after consuming all the dead bird I did.

Hope all had a great day!

I once thought that alcohol made people stupid but then an OKC SWAT officer told me, "No, it makes them honest."

I think he's right.

I think we should blame this one on the NFL. Enough with the 'tradition' of putting the lousy Lions on Thanksgiving. Maybe if a good game was on it would hold the interest of those beating each other up. Or maybe not...

This reminded me of why I don't go to family fights....er, I mean, gatherings anymore.
